THE BANK OF LONDON APPOINTS SAM WAITE AS GROUP GENERAL COUNSEL AND COMPANY SECRETARY 

LONDON, 23 March 2023 – The Bank of London, the next-generation technology company and the world’s first purpose-built global clearing, agency, and transaction bank, today announced the appointment of Sam Waite as Group General Counsel and Company Secretary. In his role, Sam will lead the Group’s legal function and contribute to the ongoing development of Group strategy, supporting the international commercial agenda.     

Sam joins The Bank of London from Paul Hastings (Europe) LLP where he worked in the Corporate practice. Acting as the trusted advisor to client principals and as the lead lawyer on a wide range of transactions, he focused on corporate governance matters, and private mergers and acquisitions across multiple sectors, in the UK, Europe and the Middle East.

A qualified solicitor with more than 10 years of experience across general corporate and M&A practice, Sam has extensive experience advising senior decision makers including both entrepreneurs and boards of directors on all aspects of UK corporate law. Earlier in his career, Sam completed his training with Simmons & Simmons LLP
